UUPHONIA
Be part of something great!
Our congregational choir UUphonia is a music ministry that welcomes all. The music is fun and accessible, with a huge variety of songs: from gospel anthems, to folk music, to hymns, to pop genres, there's something for everyone! UUphonia rehearses Thursdays 7:30-9:00pm in Panabaker Hall from September through June, featuring in the Sunday service on the third Sunday of each month. The first semester culminates in December with a sing-along concert, presenting carols and anthems in a fun and family-friendly setting. The biggest yearly event is our three-act Cabaret show presented in April over two nights, featuring the choirs, soloists, and small ensembles in an exciting and rewarding event for the whole community.
Members do not need to know how to sing or read music to join. People of all needs, abilities, and identities are welcome, and we teach a little bit in rehearsal to learn about music as we go. Attendees are also welcome to sit and listen, and our goal is to foster meaningful connections within the Calgary Unitarians community. UUphonia promotes interfaith collaboration and worship across borders, seeking to provide a soulful and uplifting musical experience every week. We look forward to seeing you Thursdays! To join the choir emailing list, please contact both music@calgaryunitarians.ca and office@calgaryunitarians.ca.
NOUS Ensemble

Calgary Unitarians' smaller choir, Nous Ensemble, rehearses for just half an hour per week on Thursdays, 6:45-7:15pm in Panabaker Hall, learning an anthem to perform each month on the choir Sundays. This group consists of upper voices and sings music in three or four parts, SSA(A). Due to the limited rehearsal time, music-reading skills are required to join. Home practice outside of rehearsal is encouraged, especially leading up to the two yearly choral showcases in December and April. Email music@calgarunitarians.ca to sign up!

Songleading Team
We like to make room for members to showcase their talents! Calgary Unitarians' Songleading Team consists of confident singers who sign up to lead hymns and service songs each Sunday on the microphones, either solo or in a small group. This brand-new initiative welcomes congregants to participate in the preparation and music-making of worship services. Rehearsals are Sunday mornings at 9:30am with those selected for each date. Email music@calgaryunitarians.ca to inquire further.
