This winter, we are launching a special program designed to weave invisible threads of care and friendship throughout our congregation. We invite members of all ages - children, youth, and adults - to register for our month-long Mystery Pal Letter Exchange.
At its core, this is an intergenerational relationship-building activity. In a world that often segments us by age, this program creates a supervised, structured, and joyful space for meaningful connections to form across generations. It’s a chance to experience the unique wisdom, curiosity, and perspective that each member of our community holds.
How It Works:
Register: Individuals and families sign up by January 24, 2026. On the form, participants will share a few interests, hobbies, or favorite things (e.g., animals, books, colors, nature). This helps us make thoughtful matches.
CHILD/YOUTH Sign-Up
ADULT Sign-Up
Get Matched: Our Children & Youth Religious Education Committee (CYRE), along with the Director of Religious Education (DRE), will confidentially match each participating adult with a child or youth, using the interests indicated to spark natural conversation.
Write & Exchange: Throughout February, matched “pals” will exchange weekly. All correspondence will be distributed through our supervised “Mystery Mail” system at church on Sundays. The DRE and CYRE committee will facilitate the exchange, ensuring anonymity is maintained.
Reveal (Optional): At a small celebration in early March, pals will have the optional joy of revealing their identities and meeting in person!
