What does love ask of us when the world is complicated, painful, and deeply personal?
Join us on Monday, November 2, at 7 pm in Wickenden as we welcome Rabbi Mark Glickman, spiritual leader of Temple B’nai Tikvah, for an evening of reflection on Israel in 2026. Rabbi Mark Glickman is the spiritual leader of Temple B’nai Tikvah, in Calgary. He is the author of Sacred Treasure: The Cairo Genizah (Jewish Lights Publishing, 2011), and Stolen Words: The Nazi Plunder of Jewish Books (Jewish Publication Society, 2016). He is currently working on a book entitled Looking to the Sun and the Moon: The Story of the Jewish Calendar.
In a time when histories, identities, grief, and deeply held convictions shape how we understand events in the Middle East, making room to hear one another’s experiences is an important spiritual practice. Rabbi Mark brings his perspective as a liberal Zionist to this evening of loving, anguished reflection.
As Calgary Unitarians explore What Does Love Ask of Us? this November, we invite you to join us in listening with curiosity, making room for complexity, and engaging with compassion—even when we have questions or see things differently.
Monday, November 2nd at 7 pm in Wickenden Hall
All are welcome.
