We’re so grateful for everything you do to help our kids grow in faith and friendship! We’re asking for your help with a very important task: updating our church records to strengthen safety and responsibility for our youngest members!

Calgary Unitarians is asking every adult who spends time with children in our various programs and events to provide or update a few key items—such as a Police Information Check, Prevent It! Certificate of completion, and first aid training certification.

Why it matters:

  • For kids & families: Builds trust and a consistent safety net.
  • For the church: Meets legal and best-practice standards.
  • For you: Adds a layer of protection in your role as a volunteer, and ensures you're ready to jump into any volunteer task that comes up—without delays from document application processes.

Next steps:

  • Submitted everything in the last 12 months? You’re all set—no action needed.
  • Time to update your first aid training? Calgary Unitarians is hosting a first aid training on Saturday, May 9! CYRE volunteers and parents/guardians can participate for FREE!
  • Need a Police Information Check? A volunteer letter from the church will be provided by request to reduce the cost to $25, and this amount will be reimbursed by Calgary Unitarians for anyone currently involved in CYRE programming. Apply HERE!
  • Ready to learn about child sexual abuse prevention? Register for the online self-paced Little Warriors Prevent It! workshop HERE!

Questions? Need a volunteer letter to submit with your PIC application? Already have documents to submit?
