This year, our annual Christmas Potluck is getting a little twist—and a lot of gratitude. Drawing inspiration from Chapter 3 of Serving with Grace, we are reminded that serving with grace often means knowing when to step forward… and when to step aside.
In that spirit, Eric Leavitt and Marsha Haug have graciously decided to move aside this year, creating space for someone new to host our beloved Christmas Potluck on Christmas Day. We are deeply grateful for the years they have poured their energy, creativity, and love into this event—keeping our community fed, connected, and occasionally challenged to sample Marsha’s mysterious-but-delicious casseroles.
Now, we are looking for someone (or a team!) to step forward and host this special gathering. Contact Rev. Samaya to discuss details. If no one comes forward, we won’t be able to hold the event this year, so this is your chance to help keep the tradition alive and maybe invent a few new twists of your own.
Serving with grace isn’t just about cooking or cleaning—it’s about making space for connection, laughter, and belonging. If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to bring people together on Christmas,” now’s the time to act. Come forward, take the lead, and help our community share warmth, joy, and perhaps a second helping of pie this holiday season.
