This Week- Who Are We to Each Other

What are we willing to stand for when justice work requires patience, relationship, and shared responsibility rather than urgency and heroics?

Join us this Sunday, March 22nd, at 10:30am in Panabaker for our weekly Worship at Calgary Unitarians. This weeks topic will be Who Are We to Each Other.

We hope to see you there!

Bulk Order Deadline April 30, 2026

The Membership Committee is putting together an order for the InSpirit UU Bookstore - https://uuabookstore.org/. As taxes, dollar conversion, tariffs and shipping can be very expensive at this time, we are welcoming all orders that members may have. By banding together, we can share the extraneous costs collectively.  Full cost will be determined at the time of order placement, extra costs split out among orders, and payment expected upon delivery.

Orders can be placed through Margaret McCrae directly, or through the membership@calgaryunitarians.ca email, with a deadline of April 30, 2026.

Clothing Swap now accepting Donations

Clothing Swap now accepting Donations

Between now and April 12

'Refresh your closet! This event will be free, and open to the public, with attendees welcome to bring their own clean donations on the day of the event. In anticipation of having tables with something to offer at the time doors open on April 18, clothing donations are being accepted at the church between now and April 12, and will be stored at the church. Help us live into our values by keeping usable clothing out of landfills, and keeping money in peoples pockets during these expensive times. Please contact Jen Allore (allore.j@calgaryunitarians.ca) for more details. '

Run Better Meetings: An Interactive Workshop

Run Better Meetings: An Interactive Workshop

Wednesday, April 29, 2026

Have you ever left a meeting feeling energized and clear about what comes next? Or… the opposite? Most of us have experienced both.

Strong, well-run meetings don’t happen by accident. They grow from thoughtful leadership, clear agendas, shared roles, and decision-making processes that honour our Unitarian Universalist values of collaboration, respect, and democracy.

Join us for a two-hour interactive workshop on how to run effective meetings in a UU setting. Together we will explore:

  • The key roles that help meetings run smoothly (chair, minute-taker, and more)
  • What makes a clear and effective agenda
  • What actually belongs in meeting minutes
  • How UU groups make decisions together
  • Practical tools for leading meetings that are engaging, respectful, and productive

This workshop will be hands-on and experiential. Participants will practice running short meetings, experiment with decision-making processes, and reflect together on how we can make our committees and teams work better for everyone.

Whether you currently chair a committee, take minutes, participate in meetings, or simply want to strengthen our shared leadership culture, this workshop is for you.

Come help us build meetings that support the work of our community—and make the best use of everyone’s time and gifts.

Please RSVP to Rev. Samaya

Looking for Hosts for our Dinner-fest

Volunteers for dinner fundraiser

I want to organize a dinner fundraiser (to replace our normal silent auction) and am looking for people who might be interested in hosting a dinner in their home. This is a great way to build community over food while raising needed funds for our beloved community.  People bid on the available dinner spots.  Each host can submit their receipts for food and beverages to the treasurer for a “ donation in kind” receipt.  Dinners will take place in the April - October 2026 time frame. If interested please contact me at And if you would like to help organize it….even better. Thanks.

Join us at the Public Hearing on March 23rd

Calgary Unitarians voted yes to actively support the Calgary Alliance for the Common Good’s position of No Repeal Without Replace that:

  1. Meets requirements for federal funding(close to $1B)
  2. Encourages "missing middle" housing in family-oriented neighbourhoods with transit, parks, and amenities
  3. Ensures we can build enough housing, including affordable housing, to meet the growing demand

Ani to Pisi Human Spiderweb Enactment

Ani to Pisi Human Spiderweb Enactment

FRIDAY, MARCH 27 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m

Ani to Pisi is a Blackfoot Creation story passed down from Clement Bear Chief to Elder Roy Bear Chief. The story emphasizes society’s interconnectedness, similar to a spider web. When one person is in trouble, or having a vibration, others come to help. The enactment of Ani to Pisi is a powerful representation of harmony and community, as participants move in unison to the beat of a drum.

Join The Confluence for this special event at the site of the upcoming permanent Residential School Memorial.
