Flower Communion Service June 7

Bring your Flowers Flowers

On June 7, we invite you to bring a flower for our annual Flower Communion, a beloved Unitarian Universalist ritual celebrating beauty, connection, and belonging.

Each flower is unique, just as each person brings their own gifts and story. Together, they form a shared bouquet—a reminder of the wonder and beauty found in community. During the service, you’ll place your flower with the others and go home with a different bloom—symbolizing the beauty we receive from one another.

we gather, we will reflect on the question: What would it mean to witness the wonder and beauty in every person?

Please bring a flower if you can—wild or cultivated, simple or extravagant. If you forget, we’ll have extras available. Every flower belongs. So does every person.

Children and Youth Religious Education

Children and Youth Religious Education

This past Sunday, our children took part in the Tibetan Buddhist practice of writing prayers on cloth to hang so the wind can carry wishes for peace, compassion and happiness out into the world. They wrote and drew their own prayers on squares of fabric — and some of those flags are now hanging in our church garden!

A big thank you to Adrienne Adams for coordinating this activity for our Sunday program!

Then on Wednesday, June 3 at noon, the Calgary Alliance for the Common Good (CACG) will launch its referendum campaign, “Vote No to Nine / Vote for the Common Good,” at Central Memorial Park (1221 2 St SW).

You will usually find Rev. Samaya in her church office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays – unless of course she has a meeting outside the church building. Rev. Samaya is not in the office on Wednesdays as that is when she focuses on sermon writing.
