Summer Has Arrived
Spring Has Arrived – Here’s What You Need to Know With the arrival of spring, our garden is once again being enjoyed by children, families, and gardeners. In the past at this time of year, we have also seen the return of individuals using the garden as a temporary campsite. While we recognize the challenges faced by those experiencing houselessness and want to respond with compassion, we must also ensure the safety of our community. What We Are Doing
If you use the garden, please be aware of this situation. If you suspect someone is camping in the garden, contact the Alpha House HELP (Human-Centred Engagement Liaison and Partnership) Team at 403-805-7388 and complete a CU Incident Report Form. If someone is in immediate distress, call 9-1-1 first, then leave a message for our Office Administrator that you have done so by calling 403-276-2436. Thank you for helping us keep our garden a safe, welcoming, and compassionate space for all. For more infomation visit: |

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone deeply committed to Unitarian Universalist values, with strong facilitation skills and experience supporting communities through change.
Key details: • Two-year full-time contract (35 hrs/week), with option to extend or become permanent • Compensation: $70,000 annually, plus benefits after a three-month probation • Application deadline: July 23, 2026 • Applications to: jobs@cuc.ca • Target start date: August 17, 2026 We especially welcome applications from candidates dedicated to living into the 8th Principle: individual and communal action that accountably dismantles racism and systemic barriers to full inclusion. Citywide Pride Interfaith Service
When: Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 7:00pm
Where: McDougall United Church (8516 Athabasca St SE, Calgary)
In person + livestreamed
This year's theme is "Water + Light," gesturing to the ingredients for a rainbow. This reflects not only the symbolic importance of the rainbow to Pride, but the significance of water and light as fundamental ingredients for life itself—a reminder of our responsibility to nourish, support and protect one another in challenging times. Attached are marketing graphics you can use on social media, in your community newsletters, and print off for your bulletin boards. You're can also RSVP to the Facebook event and share it on your pages (and email me if you want to be made a co-host on the event so you can invite people directly). Citywide Pride is the one time a year that many folks get to see just how many Affirming faith communities there are in Calgary, so it's super important to spread the word!
Expect more details about how to participate in and support Citywide Pride soon, but in the meantime, start getting excited to celebrate our Affirming community in Calgary on August 30! Can't wait to see you there, |
