The Mitten Tree Tradition: Share Warmth, Spread Love

As the season of generosity and connection unfolds, we warmly invite you to join our beloved Mitten Tree tradition. This year, the tree will support the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary, a cherished organization serving Indigenous peoples for over six decades. Through cultural programs, youth and family support, community outreach, and essential resources, the Centre helps Indigenous individuals and families thrive in the city. Guided by values of respect, reciprocity, and care, their work strengthens community and cultural connection. By participating in this simple tradition, we share warmth, spread love, and live our Unitarian Universalist values of compassion, justice, and the interdependent web that binds us all.

Blue Christmas Service

Blue Christmas Service

Tuesday, December 16, 2025

For many, this season sparkles with light and warmth. And for many others, it carries a quieter, heavier weight. Grief, illness, loneliness, anxiety, strained relationships, or memories that surface at this time of year can make the holidays feel overwhelming. Our Blue Christmas service is a gentle space of honouring—where all of who we are is welcome, without pressure to be merry.

You are invited to join us on Tuesday, December 16th at 7 pm for a reflective service of music, candlelight, and words of comfort. Together, we’ll acknowledge the complexity of this season, make room for tears and tenderness, and touch into the quiet hope that lives even within the darkest nights.

Whether you are carrying something heavy this year or simply wish to support those who are, you are most welcome. Please come as you are.
