CU Attends the 3rd Annual Red Dress Powwow!

Dearest Calgary Unitarians,

 

This Friday, in Honour of National Red Dress Day of Awareness, join Calgary Unitarians at the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary for our 3rd Annual Red Dress Powwow. This will be a powerful evening dedicated to honouring our Missing, Murdered, and Exploited Indigenous Peoples through song, dance, and community.

on the Stampede Grounds

at 5:30 PM

Event Details:
• When: This Friday, May 8, 2026. Doors open at 5:00 PM and the Grand Entry begins at 6:00 PM.
• Where: The Big Four Roadhouse (1410 Olympic Way SE).
• Cost: Admission is completely free and all are welcome!

The evening will feature a Memorial Tribute for Families, an Honour Song and Dance, and a Red Dress Dance Special. We are incredibly proud to host a Special Honouring Ceremony for our distinguished guest, Josie Nepinak, and will be joined by honoured guests including the Honourable Rajan Sawhney, ECA , Juno Award-winning artist Susan Aglukark, and Calgary Mayor Jeromy Farkas! A light meal will be provided for attendees for free, and local vendors will be onsite.
