"We Are the Ones" – A Project by Our Former Music Director
During the Alberta teachers’ strike, our former Music Director was inspired to bring people together through song. Feeling the frustration and powerlessness many shared, he remembered the unifying power of collective singing from past movements for justice. Drawing on Bernice Johnson Reagon’s We Are the Ones—itself rooted in the words of poet and activist June Jordan—he invited people across Alberta to lend their voices to a virtual choir in solidarity with teachers, students, and all who work for a more just and compassionate province. You can watch the project here: For more infomation visit: http://calgaryunitarians.ca/news/we-are-the-ones-a-project-by-our-former-music-director
