The Canadian UU version of Canada Reads!
Six Canadian UU ministers each pitch a book that will help us live into this moment as Canadian UUs. Watch Rev.s Anne Barker, Debra Faulk, Lynn Harrison, Pat Trudeau, Rosemary Morrison and Samaya Oakley as they make a compelling case for their book.
Audience members (that’s you!) will be able to submit questions.
At the end of the event, everyone will vote on the book that will set the theme for 2026’s Sharing Our Faith packet.
This experiment is one contribution to “Activating the Canadian Ecosystem,” a year of connection, experimentation and learning.
Here is the reveal of all the books!
  • Rev. Lynn Harrison: "The Eloquence of Silence: Surprising Wisdom in Tales of Emptiness" by Thomas Moore (2023).
  • Rev. Pat Trudeau: "Active Hope: How to Face the Mess We're in with Unexpected Resilience and Creative Power" by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone (2022).
  • Rev. Debra Faulk: "Embers: One Ojibway’s Meditations" by the late Richard Wagamese (2016).
  • Rev. Anne Barker: "Imaginable: How to Create a Hopeful Future—in Your Own Life, Your Community, the World" by Jane McGonigal (2023).
  • Rev. Rosemary Morrison: "Beyond Welcome: Building Communities of Love" by Linnea Nelson (2022).
  • Calgary Unitrains' own Rev. Samaya Oakley: "North of Nowhere: Song of a Truth and Reconciliation Commissioner" by Marie Wilson (2024)
